SONI is the Electricity System Operator for Northern Ireland. We ensure that Northern Ireland has a secure, reliable and cost-effective supply of electricity. We provide a critical service to consumers, communities and to the economy.

As of today (14th October 2020), Alan Campbell, Head of Infrastructure and Connections will take up the position of interim Managing Director. 

Alan has been with SONI since 2017 and leads the teams responsible for the delivery of connections to the transmission grid and of new network infrastructure, including the recently approved North South Interconnector. He has more than twenty years’ experience in the energy industry in Northern Ireland, in senior roles which have included Manager of Coolkeeragh Power Station.

Alan will work with the Senior Management team at SONI, ensuring the organisation fulfils its vital role delivering an efficient, clean energy system for consumers in Northern Ireland.
