The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has made its determination on an appeal brought by SONI (System Operator for Northern Ireland) of the Utility Regulator’s Price Control (2015-2020).
Robin McCormick, General Manager at SONI, welcomed the decision:
“We are pleased with the outcome from the CMA, particularly in regards to the clarification around the price control framework and how SONI is remunerated in the future; this decision means we now have a more sustainable business model.
“We look forward to working collaboratively with the Utility Regulator as we continue to manage and develop a sustainable electricity system in the best interest of consumers”.
