SONI (System Operator for Northern Ireland) is the company that runs and develops the electricity grid, ensuring everyone in Northern Ireland has power when it is needed. Today SONI is announcing its return to the Balmoral Show along with the high-energy SONI Titan.
The SONI Titan, an 8 foot robot, is fully charged and ready to entertain everyone throughout the four day event. The powerful performer is sure to be one of the highlights of the 150th Balmoral Show.
SONI will also have a stand near the Agri-Pavilion for anyone keen to learn more about the vital work that the grid operator carries out every day of the year, as Natasha Sayee from SONI, explains:
“We are really pleased to be returning to Balmoral for our third year as a premier partner. It is also very exciting that the SONI Titan will be back - building on his successful visit last year, but our focus for the show will be to engage with landowners and the agricultural community.
“At SONI we work to keep the lights on 24/7, to make sure the NI economy has the power it needs to grow. We also have to make improvements to the grid, through key projects like the North South Interconnector.
“We know that these projects can only progress in partnership with the agricultural community and so our landowner engagement team will be at the show to meet anyone with questions or queries about our projects.”
Jenny McNeill from the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society says SONI is an important partner for the Balmoral Show:
“SONI are passionate about what they do and really value their relationships with landowners, farmers and their families. That’s why we are pleased to help give them a platform for their work.
“SONI is a great supporter of the show and we are delighted that the team and the SONI Titan are back with us!”
