Jo Aston joins SONI from the Utility Regulator, Northern Ireland, where she currently holds the position of Director of Wholesale Energy Markets. She has extensive leadership experience in the water and energy industries in Northern Ireland.  

Ms Aston will join EirGrid Group’s Executive team and will have day to date operational responsibility for the Northern Ireland System Operator reporting directly to EirGrid Group CEO Mark Foley. 

Welcoming Ms Aston, Mark Foley, CEO said Jo will bring extensive expertise and a deep experience of the energy market in Northern Ireland to SONI.

Jo Aston is a Chartered Engineer and a graduate of Queens University Belfast.
