Business Continuity

SONI as the system operator is committed to keeping key parties informed of key incidents and events on the system. This includes but is not limited to those times when there is a serious risk to security of supply.

This page shares the guiding principles on which the SONI Business Continuity Management System (the ‘BCMS’) is based.

Co-ordination of our people, process and systems in the interest of maintaining security of supply is at the forefront of our decision making.

Business Continuity Management is integrated into the business and seeks to mitigate threats to the operation of the grid. The primary objective of the SONI Business Continuity Management System is to ensure that SONI can continue to exercise its core functions in the event of an emergency and to identify, plan, resource and implement preventative actions that reduce the risk of service disruption to our customers.

SONI’s business continuity approach seeks to:

  1. Improve incident response time and minimise the impact of threats.
  2. Increase client confidence through demonstrable commitment to SONI service resilience.
  3. Provide a structure for continual assessment and improvement within the business.
  4. Highlight SONI’s commitment to providing a premium level of services to stakeholders, even during adverse conditions and despite the challenges.

In summary, SONI aims to deliver a quality, highly resilient service to the customers and stakeholders that we serve. Our Customer Relations Team aims to provide professional, reliable and efficient assistance and support to business and industry customers.
